Martin Rezard has been an integral part of some of the most significant movie and TV productions of recent years, including the powerhouse that is the Star Wars franchise. He will be on the Education Stage discussing his work on this and other high-profile productions.
Martin is a self-taught artist and craftsman who started his career building masks, puppets and wacky props of all kinds for stage productions and contemporary dance companies. He then moved on to working as a concept designer, sculptor, and prosthetic makeup artist in the creature effects business, which he has done for more than 25 years, first in Paris, then Sydney and he has now been in London for the past 12 years.
He has worked with some of the industry’s greatest names including MEG and Odd Studio in Sydney, Jean Christophe Spadaccini in Paris, Dave Elsey, Neill Gorton and Millennium FX, Nick Dudman, Mark Coulier, Conor O’Sullivan and David White. He is currently working for Neal Scanlan.
His credits include movies such as ‘The Matrix’, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’, ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, ‘Prometheus’, ‘World War Z’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Maleficent’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, ‘A Star Wars Story: Untitled Han Solo Film’, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and more, as well as large scale TV shows like ‘Farscape’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Torchwood’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Atlantis’ and ‘Merlin’.
